So you want to find a perfect fat burning diet that will allow you to reduce body fat and achieve your dream physique.
Well, the “perfect fat burning diet” simply doesn’t exist. Sad news, I know, but I’m here to guide you through exactly what you need to do to get the best results. Following the advice below should get you as much fat burning as pretty much all weight loss, fat burning and fat loss services available for free!
Let’s get to it!
Fat Burning Foods
Ah, the number one searched for fat burning keyword is what foods to eat that will magically cause your body to burn fat.
Sadly, again, I’m here to debunk the myths that fat burning foods actually exist, because in reality they simply do not. Yup, to my knowledge there aren’t any foods that will magically make the scale cooperate, but there are clever choices you can make that will help your body re-learn just how important it is to use fat as energy.
By doing so, you allow your body to heal, lose weight and recover from illness all by making better food choices. If you aren’t up to speed with how Paleo helps you do this on near autopilot, checkout how a Paleo diet plan can help you by clicking here (opens in new tab so that you can keep reading this article!)
Here is a list of “fat burning foods” to help your body relearn how to burn fat for energy:
- Leafy greens
Salad greens are some of the most nutritionally dense foods you can eat and should make up a good amount of your vegetable intake. They are rich in micro nutrients which are hard to find elsewhere so eat up! - Lean meats
Eating meat is one of the best ways to get a large amount of nutrients into the body in the smallest and most delicious package. Eat lots of lean meat and reap the rewards! - Fatty meats from good sources
Try to find a good supplier of grass fed meats and order your meat from them only. Grass fed, pasture raised animals have better fat constitution. - Berries
If you’re going to eat fruit, cut out anything that isn’t a berry. Berries have less fructose and often have superior nutrient profiles to other fruits. - Omega 3
Make sure you get a high quality omega 3 supplement and take it religiously. Omega 3’s are associated with many health benefits and will make a noticeable difference. - Fat
Fat doesn’t make you fat. Shocker, I know, but this means that you can eat more fatty meals without having to worry about packing on weight. Try to make fatty fish, coconut oil, grass fed butter and olive oil part of your diet and you should see your body adapt to burning fat that much faster.
You should also look at removing foods from your diet that are hurting your body and preventing weight loss. Here is a list of some foods to remove right now, starting from your next meal:
- Sugar
This might seem a little obvious but you need to be rigid and consistent with your sugar intake for your body to really heal. Try to cut out all sugar and watch the weight fall off. I would recommend that you don’t try and replace sugar with any other sweetener because this defeats the purpose of curbing your carbohydrate addiction. Don’t fool yourself, if you are constantly hankering after carbs and sugar then you are probably addicted to them on some level. - Grains
News flash, there is no healthy bread on Earth. Seed bread, health bread and any other “healthy” bread option simply doesn’t exist. Grains cause all sorts of havoc in the body and can hurt your intestines because of gluten and its pro-inflammatory attributes. I would recommend that you cut out all grain for the rest of your life, trust me, you’ll thank me. - Alcohol
Because we want to reduce the amount of stress our bodies are undertaking through diet we need to look at the big picture and realise that really, alcohol simply doesn’t have a place in it. If you must drink alcohol, keep it to no more than 5 units per week and 1 unit per maximum. - Processed meats
Cut out the processed meats forever. They are full of chemicals and nitrites that can cause cancer and you obviously do not want that as part of your fat burning diet.
Fat Burning Workout

What would an article on burning fat be without the obligatory fat burning workout and exercise section. Cutting down on bad foods will help, but if you want to “seal the deal” so to speak. This doesn’t mean hours at the gym, in fact small amounts of exercise can get massive results.
Weight lifting
Lifting heavy things should be part of your fat burning exercises as they aren’t reserved for body builders or gym addicts. Try to lift heavy objects such as kettle bells every week and see your body respond in more ways than you can imagine.
Walking
Walking is not easy exercise, believe it or not a simple walk around the block can have long lasting benefits for the body. Try to work up your fitness so that you can start running a few times per week.
Hiking
Getting outdoors is closely linked to keeping yourself healthy and fits right into the Paleo lifestyle. Try and organise a hiking club and get out and see world!
Sprinting
Try to incorporate a sprint training session every week. If you are looking for one great fat burning exercise to rule them al then sprinting is the one. All you need to do is run at 100% effort for as long as you can with a minute or so rest period in between 3-8 times and you’re good to go. Think about how you would chase down an animal you were hunting, that’s the kind of exercise you should be aiming for. Personally this has made a massive difference to my life and I would recommend sprint training for everyone, especially if you are looking to lose weight.
